A fan of hotdogs and never stops moving, it’s that iconic blue hedgehog, Sonic! We’re absolutely massive fans of SEGA’s blue blur here at TeeChu. A cheeky, lovable hero that has plenty of attitude and packs all the skills to save the day! We’ve come up with some potential Sonic the Hedgehog t-shirt concepts inspired by the classic ’90s style.
Part of our mission is to let you be a big part of future designs, with every fresh tee being voted on! Each of these Sonic the Hedgehog t-shirt designs are up for the vote on Instagram – with your favourite becoming a brand new tee! Here’s a quick rundown of each of the different looks:
Design 1 – Let’s Dip into the ‘80s
This look takes on a slightly more 80s, synth vibe – with a distinctive green grid and sharp retro shapes zipping about. Everyone’s favourite hedgehog is front and centre, with the classic star emblem and a subtle emerald shape for added chaos power. We wanted to have a distinct, sharp retro vibe; a throwback to an age built up of all sorts of quirky shapes!
Design 2 – Light and Shadow the Hedgehog
Silhouettes and hedgehogs are at play with this design. Sonic is bathed in his more familiar shadowy outline and framed by blues and oranges, taking a leaf out of the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 book for inspo. Colours brewed up to celebrate a hedgehog and his best buddy – a rather genius fox!
Design 3 – Free to roam on a Sonic the Hedgehog t-shirt
Leaning more towards a less restricted design, this look lets the hedgehog free to roam! The strong “Sonic” text makes up the biggest part of the look, with a spattering of retro shapes and a distinct blue triangle for a little extra punch! This one was actually the last design we put together, a slightly more random and frantic take on the fastest-ever-hog, but one that just felt right.
Design 4 – Shapes for a Decade
Taking it back to the original Sonic the Hedgehog era, the early 90s. Colours, shapes, funky patterns – the decade had it all. SEGA’s aesthetic with the Mega Drive / Genesis was exactly that. Strong, sharp shapes and bold colours. Sonic was, and still is, the master of what’s cool. This design is similar to the first, but with a reworked background.
Design 5 – Hello, Friends!
Where were Tails and Knuckles, you ask? Well they were having a little snooze in the previous designs. Sonic’s sidekicks are here and ready to kick some Eggman, well, bottom. The same retro-style shapes add that classic kick, with three familiar silhouettes ready to bring on a heap of nostalgia to Sonic fans!
