Can you believe it’s been 20 years since the release of Pokémon Snap on the Nintendo 64? We’re celebrating with a week-long community hashtag #PokemonSnapWeek!
The appeal of Pokémon
There’s something wildly special about Pokémon. A series that has survived huge shifts in the way we consume games and media. For a game that started as teeny 8-bit pixels on the original Game Boy, it’s evolved massively. We have a gorgeous new Nintendo Switch game on the way, addictive mobile experiences, films and more. It may have been hugely successful over 20 years ago, but it’s even stronger now. The sheer popularity of Pokémon is certainly a testament to just how incredible these critters truly are!

Over 20 years of Pokémon Snap
Pokémon Snap is a cult classic in the gaming community. An experimental little gem that gave you a camera, some lures and safari experience like no other! Try your best to draw out critters in the wild, capturing them through the lens and not a Pokéball. But the main aim was to impress the slightly-harsh critic, Prof. Oak! The game has cemented itself as one of the best Nintendo 64, let alone Pokémon games, ever. It’s definitely one to hunt out if you’ve never played it.
