We caught up with the awesome Nintendo fan and geek Liam (@sir_liamthelegend) on an incredible gaming journey, a love for Nintendo games and creating Tik Tok!
1. Hey Liam! Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got into gaming?
Eeyy-O!! Sir_Liam at your service!
The name’s Liam & I am a gamer! Ever since I was a little one I’ve always been into video games, it was something that took me surprised & introduced me into a whole new atmosphere. When I was about 3 or 4 years old, I remember picking up a PlayStation 1 controller & playing my very first video game, Crash Bandicoot 3!
I was really into cartoons (still am). Getting behind the controller and seeing what video games are like, to me, was something I’d ever experienced before! It was like a cartoon I could control; push a button and the character on the screen jumps, does some special move, moves in any direction! That is where young Liam was introduced into the world of gaming – I was loving every second of it!

2. Have been following your journey on Instagram/TikTok, loving your posts and fun reels as @sir_liamthelegend! What made you start a gaming page?
I started a gaming page not only because I enjoy video games with a passion, but also I saw fellow gamers create gaming content. Saw how they took something that they enjoyed and amplified it into a hobby! I myself have been doing gaming content for quite a while, from reviewing games, doing voice overs, and skits of video games that I & many others enjoy! It has been and still is a great way to express my love for games and also bring laughter to others who enjoy video games!

3. As a huge Nintendo fan, what do you think makes Nintendo games & characters loved by so many people?
What really makes Nintendo characters & games stand out more to the public, to me; is that Nintendo has been into the gaming industry longer than the other gaming companies. Nintendo were originally a toy company in Japan, then formed into a video game company. It not only saved video games, but gave them a whole new look and feel to them to which everyone can enjoy, have fun, and get lost into a world of adventure!
4. What are some of your favourite classic Nintendo games and why?
Some of my favourite classic Nintendo games? First, the plumber guy we all know and love – Super Mario! Yahoo!
Fun Fact: Mario was first on the Atari, but it is with Nintendo that the number one hero Mario really took off! Super Mario Bros. (NES), Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES), Super Mario World (SNES), Super Mario Bros 64 (Nintendo 64), Super Mario Sunshine (GameCube) – to me Mario just brings out the fun, adventurous, & joyfulness that is Nintendo.

5. Love seeing your gaming trips & con adventures, too! What’s been your favourite place or event to visit?
My favourite place/event to visit is this amazing place called Comic Con! Imagine a place where people who enjoy video games, anime, and cosplaying all came together into one event from around the world to meet one another, become friends, spread joy, laughter & build beautiful connections. All because of a video game or a show that they enjoy!
Comic Con truly is a place where it is very special and a place where you can truly be you, share your passion, be loved and be with others who share the love of your interests as well.

6. What are your most treasured games/merch that you couldn’t part with?
Some of my most treasured games & merch I have that I cannot part with my amiibo. The treasure that are amiibo are truly special and something I believe Nintendo formed by going back to their roots – because again, Nintendo was a toy company long ago.
The way they put care into detail with each amiibo shows, but these cool figures are not just for show, they also can be used in games to unlock cool skins, items, and many other amazing stuff! A figure that can also be used in games? Next level stuff if you ask me.

7. Is there a particular game or console you’d love to get your hands on in the future?
One particular game in the future I’d love to get is Super Mario Odyssey 2! I absolutely loved the first one, and to me is one of the best Nintendo Switch games ever & a must have for every switch owner!
Of course me being a Super Mario fan I love it, because the way it delivers that fun Super Mario adventure from the levels, graphics, mechanics, storyline, and a legendary sidekick Cappy! It truly would be history in the making for a second Super Mario Odyssey 2!
8. Do you have any tips for anyone wanting to start a gaming page on Instagram?
My advice for anyone who wants to start a gaming page for Instagram or any other social media platform: just make sure you’re enjoying it and having fun! A gaming page/channel should be a place where you can escape & be at bliss, have fun, be you, and a place/hobby where you can clear your mind to enjoy!
9. What franchises or sequels would you like to see on the next Nintendo console?
Some franchises that I would love to see on the next Nintendo console: the next Super Smash Bros. game, Mario kart 9 – which I believe will also make history & really is the best racing game ever. Plus, a solo Waluigi game! We have a bunch of Mario gems, some Luigi gems, as well as handful of Wario gems, but not a single Waluigi one? Hopefully with the next console, we can finally see a Waluigi game!

10. What games are you playing at the moment?
The games I am currently playing at the moment – of course Mario Kart 8 Deluxe! My very first switch game and still to this day – love it and enjoy the challenging online races, because it is a perfect way to bring gamers from around the world together! Also trying out the new Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD that dropped today for the switch & am loving it! Bring you that fun spooky vibe.
